As you know that "black eyed peas" is a very healthy, luscious and quick breakfast recipe. But have you tried it as a curry recipe in your lunch or dinner.
I tried it and found that it is amazing in taste like Rajma masala curry. And you can prepare it without much preparation and it takes less time in cooking.
If you are making ramas in your breakfast,
Then boil some extra ramas for making the curry of it at the lunch or dinner time.

# Ingredients For Black- Eyed Peas Masala Curry...
# For Pressure Cook
1. Black eyed peas...15o gram ( soaked )
2.Salt....1 1|4 tea spoon or as taste
3. Water as required or 2 inch above the soaked peas
# Ingredients For Making The Gravy Of Ramas Masala Curry..
1. Pure Ghee or oil....2 table spoon
2. Cumin seeds..1|2 tea spoon
3. Pinch of heeng...( Asafoetida )
4. Whole Spices...1 bay leaf,4 cloves,1 cinnamon stick, 2 black cardamoms..
5. Tomato puree of 4 tomatoes+ 1 or 2 green chili + 1 piece of ginger
6. Turmeric powder...12 tea spoon
7. Red chili powder...1|4 tea spoon
8. Garam masala..1|2 tea spoon
9. Lemon juice of 1 lemon
10. Coriander leaves...1 spoon
# Ingredients for Tadka..
1. Oil or pure ghee....1 table spoon
2. Cumin seeds...1|2 tea spoon
3. Pinch of jeebh
4. Whole Red Chile..1
# Procedure Of Making Ramas Curry
# Wash black eyed peas well till water comes clear. Soak them in enough water for 5 hours or overnight.
# Now discard the soaking water and add 2 cups of water and salt.
# Cook it on the high flame upto 1 or 2 whistle, then reduce the flame to low and cook for 10 minutes without baking soda.
Boil it for 5 minutes only with baking soda.

# Let the pressure go down by itself and check the ramas. If peas are soft then it is cooked, if not soft then coook it for 3 or 5 minutes more.
# Heat the pan with oil and add cumin seeds to crackle and asafoetida to sizzle.
Then add whole spices and saute them for 30 seconds for a nice flavour.

# Now add tomato puree with all dry spices and salt.
# Cook it till the oil starts to leave the side of pan.
# Add the boiled Ramas along with its water. Mix well and let it simmer for 5 minutes.
# Check the consistency of Ramas gravy, if the gravy is thin and watery, let it simmer for few minutes more.
If the gravy is thick then add some boiled water.

# Now add garam masala and coriander leaves.
# Lastly add the tadka of cumin seeds, heeng and whole red chili heating in a tadka pan.
# Delicious Black - eyed Masala curry is ready to serve with roti or chapatti.

Note...
1. If you like onion and garlic, then add 2 chopped onions and 2 cloves of crushed garlic, after sauting the whole spices.
Saute them till they become soft and golden brown.

2. Don't overcook the black eyed peas otherwise they will become mashy.
